Thoughts about the new album PANIC FANCY
According to Fan-Net the new album will be expected soon(July 9 th), though nothing has been confirmed yet on the official homepage.
I have posted this on another forum too, but it kept me thinking about it.
Here is the thought:
How "new" is the album going to be?
I mean we have:
Ika Summer
Ikenai Taiyou
Kimi Station
O2
Shiawase Neiro
(kari )Lalala
Powder beats
Harushion
Will these singles be included on the album? Or as a bonus? Or something else? What do you guys think?

Well, in the past they've excluded quite a few b-sides from the actual album, haven't they? Who knows, maybe LaLaLa, Powder Beats and Harushion will be excluded from the album altogether. Like Spiral and Nettai Knight.
But still, a line up of Ika Summer, Ikenai Taiyou, KimiStation, O2 and Shiawase Neiro is pretty extensive. Not to mention the upcoming Sunny Stripe they've been teasing us with. That's six songs, and their albums have had an average of 18 or 19 songs in the past. So there's still a lot left to be discovered, I think.
But I could definately be wrong.

True, though Fuurikazan and Walk On were B-side singles too and they also appeared on the album. I am not excluding the B-side songs yet .
But I think you are right. I was looking at their single and album releases. Most of the time they would release an album after 4 singles. But like you said, they have quite a long tracklist in general. So 5 "old" songs + 1 song that we know by title (Sunny Stripe) , is not bad .

i think that's how japs music industries work..
they throw some singles first, and then collect them in one album, plus some new songs... it always like that...
i think the upcoming album, with that track list, will be great coz i love OR's new singles...

Re: Thoughts about the new album PANIC FANCY
I know right? These last four single have been some of my favorites yet! I'm really looking forward to the new album, whatever they end up including.
And I actually like the way the Japan industry does things. With singles coming before albums. There's almost always something new to keep fans satisfied that way.
And to zomer, I've noticed a pattern concerning OR's b-sides. With 1st Contact, most of their singles were released with at least one track from their upcoming album. And then from their musiQ album, none of their single's b-sides were included, excluding with Michishirube~a road home~ which had Zung Zung Funky Music. Natural was the same way.
And then they release Orange Range, and a b-side from almost every single appeared on the album. I think the amount of b-sides they include depends on how successful they predict the upcoming album to be. If they anticipate higher sales, then they might take the time to record extra songs to be included on single, and if they predict lower/average sales, then the company may not want to give them an allowance for those extra songs.
This album is a little hard to predict, I think. Ikenai Taiyou and O2 were successful enough, but with Ika Summer and Kimi Station's sales... I think the future of the 5th album is still up in the air.
I dunno. I've always been interested in the mechanics of the music busniess, but these theories are only based on my observations, and I am in no way an industry official.

Yes! And I also love his part about two thirds into the song- "Oh my kantorii beriberikyuuto... kimi ha baiku de hitottobi." Yay! I used to listen to those bars over and over again when Ika Summer was still fresh. Like his opening in Kimi Station, Yama's parts always strike a chord with me- "I continue to fight!"
Re: Thoughts about the new album PANIC FANCY

I just wish the rest of OR's japanese public would recognize it. Maybe then OR would experience a new round of glory days.
