yes, i have that subject in my faculty...
we learn how okinawan fight against military base there... such a great story!!!
and i know that okinawan are proud of being uchinanchu!
we can see how OR pride of their hometown.. ^^

Okinawan elders mould their young people well.............

yea, once, in a video i saw a young man told a story about a granny who said to him (he's not uchinanchuu, but yamatonchuu, ones from the mainland japan):
"just like a jungle, even people harm it, if there is a single tree or even a seed, this harmed jungle can always be recovered... if there is even only a single person who have the idea to fight this military base and teach the next generation, there always be a change people can make to a better life" (well, more or less this granny said that)
and then that young man help okinawan with their fight for years... ^^

Such inspirational words................... I love those grannies. Their fighting spirit is so unbelievable!!

yea!! i hope the young people here can read those words and be inspired by that granny's words... ^^

they planned to build new military base, airbase to be exact, in Henoko, Okinawa... you can search the information further by googling with "henoko" as the keyword...

@zelda, that's not my words of course, but one granny from okinawa who fights against military base's existance in okinawa... she's such a great woman!!!
